Has anyone used Body Systems Reviews I,II,III for Step 1? I have heard that these books are a good practice for Step 1, so I was wondering if it's good to have them . I am looking for other practice book with good questions close to the real step 1,can anyone give me some advice? And Kaplan Qbank is good to practice?
Thanks all for your help 🙂

I had photocopied these books, but never found the time to use them.Actually, it was through sdn that i decided to try other sources, since I saw many people saying that they are far too difficult to be representative.
The best q's I saw was from the pretest series, Aplleton's And NMS's reviews for step 1. and the q bank. I've heard also good comments on Webpath and I did the RObbins's review of pathology, which was quite good for its images.

glad to see this thread. i haven't started step 1 studying in earnest yet (still in class) and will have about 6 weeks to prepare during which i plan on doing as many questions as i can get my hands on (so far that includes qbank, qbook, bsr, nms and maybe pretest vignettes). i have a short attention span when it comes to sitting down with a book and reading although i know i have to somehow get through the "must read" review books. ughhhh.

anyway, i've heard the questions in this body systems review series are harder than qbank i didn't find the diagnostic questions (50 at the beginning of each book) too bad. scored about the same as i do with qbank.

I haven't taken the USMLE yet, but I did use BSS to study for our system exams this past year (MS2).

I've been told over and over that the BSS questions are harder than the "real thing". From personal experience, I can say that the Q's are good and the explanations are excellent...but sometimes really long. If you have time, BSS rocks. You almost don't need a textbook bec. the explanations for the questions are so detailed.

But for the USMLE - I just don't have the time. I doubt I'll even open one of the books.
