Is it just me or do most of you have trouble remembering which lists are relevant to which disease... for example.. i'll manage to remember a list of complications of influenza and then a few days later i'll remember the entire list but forget whether they were complications of...bronchitis? or maybe it was sinusitis? .. influenza? .... and i get confused and stressed and frustrated... and and.. i was wondering how you guys study to make it stick ... 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

Instead of memorizing everything, learn and understand what the disease does on the tissue, immune, and cellular levels and you can usually rationalize possible associations based on anatomical and phsiological communication. Of course there are exceptions to this rule, but this will get you through a lot while still remaining sane.

For classes such as micro which requires me to memorize many similar factors, I make charts with importants parts to it and look at it once in a while. Constant reptition seems to stick with me more than reasoning (b/c some of the stuff can't be 'reasoned' out by my poor brain). Hope that helps.

i make hilarious/vulgar/weird stories for each bacteria. do it with friends. you'll spend twenty minutes laughing your butts off and everytime even a little portion of the story is encountered in life, you immediately think about it and crack up on the "inside joke"

its a mnemonic, with random reviews scattered throughout the day, and it makes studying fun

if you want an example, PM me, i'll get flamed instantly if i post one here
