What is the chinese water torture? Is that when they tie a heavy, metal ball on your thingy and try to drown you in sewage water?

imagine if someone tapped you on the forehead incessantly for an indeterminate span of time. That would drive me nuts.

Its like little kids asking "are we there yet?" every two miles in the car, but worse.

hopefully statuses will start to change when everyone gets back from the holiday vacation....
 
hmm..that sucks....i'm on pre-interview hold.....i think i know why though....they gave me an interview last year which DID NOT GO WELL, because i couldn't understand my inerviewer at all....even after asking him to repeat himself.....eventually i gave up and started saying "i don't know" to the questions i couldn't understand.....i should have written a letter to the admissions committee about it.....i think i'm still being punished for it....this sucks!!!!!!
 
still PENDING REVIEW?! i hope the adcomm comes back from break in a very giving mood

well, i'm going to call monday when the office opens....honestly, from what i've found staying quiet hasn't really helped me much, and those people that maintain some sort of communication with the admission office seem to get where they want to go...so it's about time i tried it.....see the reapplicant forum for a thread about this....
and yes, you dare.....asking why you haven't been reviewed yet won't hurt....and hey, maybe you can get to know someone in the office....🙂

Did your status change from "pending review" to "review in process" or did it just change from "pending review" to "on hold"?

I am just curious because my status skipped the "review in process" stage and changed to "on hold" on Friday.

it went from pending review to review in process a couple of weeks ago, then friday to on hold.......maybe they did that to everyone you think? did anyone get an interview invite friday?

why's that? i interviewed there last year, and i didn't get the invite until the end of january.......or was it beg. of feb? so, really, you should call them.....

i just called. wasnt very informative. guess i have to wait for now.

hmmm..well, i have an idea...how about sending in a letter of interest, just to say, hey, i like your school, and when they get around to your app they'll see it there and say, wow, this guy really wants to come here, let's give him an interview!!

mine took about 3 weeks between when they started reviewing and when i got the email about the interview.
 
well hopefully its longer than mine mike...

they reviewed my crap for an entire 1 or 2 days and then put me on hold.

What great news... light at the end of the tunnel! I sent in my letter of intent (yes, intent) to UCI today. I am going on three months on Jan 15th. Do you mind pming me your stats? I heard something about the way they divide the apps that made me wonder a bit - If our apps are similar, maybe I will be next? Pm me if you want to know how they do it. Congrats again!
 
OMG, guys!!!! REVIEW IN PROCESS!!!!!!!!!! I sent my letter of intent in just in the nick of time... or was it my letter that made this happen?!? You decide!!

Complete Oct. 15th... :wow:

Right now the admissions committee is reviewing all of us who were put on pre-interview hold....so hang tight b/c we might be hearing something soon!
 
I was never put on pre-interview hold. This is the first review for me. Have you heard otherwise?
 
i've been on pre-interview hold since the fall and was wondering if anyone else who was on hold also has since been sent an interview invite. thanks!

Hey Guys!! I just went from pending review on January 24th, to interview on Jan 29th! What a wonderful world this is!!!
