Still waiting on CCOM interview...

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
well, i'm still waiting too. they told me i was reviewed on Nov. 9th - so i dunno what's going on. just hoping they didn't forget about me! haha

bump 👍

aaand, i just got my first and only letter from ccom..and i'm on the interview waitlist. its not bad or good i suppose, but i still feel in limbo!

does anyone have any experience/stories with the interview waitlist at ccom? 🙂 thanks!

i got my CCOM interview after a while.
my 2ndry was not complete until after thanksgiving.
early dec. i think. i got all my other do interviews and then CCOM last. they were the slowest at getting back to me. it was about 1.5 month turn around for me.
maybe i'll see you in august! (if i get in too...)

i'm still waiting too (3 months with pretty competitive stats, so 1.5 mos isn't bad at all!). does anyone know how full the class is already and if they have a good amount of interviews to still offer?

I was complete 11/29 according the status page and received an interview about 4 days ago. When I toured the campus in Oct. the students told me that the interview season went pretty late into the year. I managed to schedule my interview the 1st of Feb (message me if you interview the same day). Good luck to those that are still waiting to hear. Does anybody know the stats on the %of interviewees they accept?

Ive been complete for over a month! i know im being really impatient but thats the school i really wanna go to. Anybody else still waiting impatiently? I have above average stats, i think i deserve an interview! haha
I am waiting too.....have you heard anything yet?

I have been complete since 11/21. Out of State....anyone else out there still waiting?

btw, what is the avg mcat and gpa at ccom? i've always had an idea but not a specific answer

3.3 - 3.4 sci gpa, ~ 3.4 - 3.5 overall gpa, and a 24 + mcat is pretty characteristic of CCOM.

the mcat is actually pretty competitive. the literature i received from my interviewd indicated is was 26 (avg mcat).
i just checked my interact now acct with midwestern.edu My completion date for my secondary was 12/8 and i just interviewed with them on 1/18 so i guess i was lucky.
i actually received a phone call from them stating they would like me to interview and asked if i was available for a date in the near future. i think someone prob decided not to take their interview so they called me to take his place.
one of my friends was called on a Wed. and interviewed 2 days later that friday!
so don't give up hope.
ESPECIALLY those people whose apps have not been completed for that long 🙂

altho this is a bit of discouraging news i guess the question was asked
what % of the class is full?

they said that by dec. about 50% of the spots available have been offered.

this is only offered, however. not taken up and deposits paid.

I had posted a thread earlier about % interviewees accepted a few days ago so you can try to find that one.
i remember that for DMU and CCOM it is ~74%
hopefully that number is true.

well unless i'm being very hopeful, 50% doesnt sound that bad. if it took around 3-4 months for 50% to be offered up by dec., they still have the other 50% to offer. right??

haha i cancelled that Tuesday. You took my spot! i'm glad that they got to offer it to someone else. that is awesome. I am really really happy because I was worried I cancelled too late.

i would look at it that way as well. at first i was like oh no... half the class is full.
but once you have the interview you know they like something about you. your foot is in the door, you just have to open it 👍

SWEET!!! thanks for actually calling them and not bailing. bc then my interview prob would have been a lot later on and my interviewers were really chill. its also my #1 or 2 choice.
where have you heard from that you decided to cancel on CCOM?

im in at Nova(which I loved) and top of the waitlist at UMDNJ.. so i decided I didn't want to attend the CCOM interview since I would choose Nova over CCOM.

yes!!!..just got the call this morning and interviewing bright and early tomorrow at ccom!!! wish me luck!..🙂

Knock em dead. Hope to see you in July!!!!

Marcia

My application has been completed for 3 weeks now. No news about interview yet. Still waiting....🙁

Congrats!!! Knock 'em dead! I really liked my interview day at CCOM although the 5 hour wait due to my flight being cancelled at O'Hare put a damper on the whole trip..

Best of luck!!! :luck: :luck: :luck: 👍 👍 👍

i was in CCOM's admissions office yesterday, dropping off a letter of "thanks". The senior admissions advisor told me they will be holding very few interviews this month, and are using this time to sort out a couple waitlisted people, and to organize the last of the secondaries that are shuffling in. they told me that the last big batch of interviews will be starting in the first week of March.

I know i can i know i can i know i can! im just the little engine that could waiting and hoping, I applied a little later and just waiting man!

Really hope I get in, All my stuff is in , was just totally complete recently so i guess ill be looking forward to march, just hearing that I can get an interview wud be crazy great itself!

hahah thanks drmax and mdille2 🙂 i had interview and i think i fell in love with ccom all over again 😍 i feel pretty good about the day, but we shall see..i feel kind of surreal about the whole thing b/c i was dying for a ccom interview for the last umpteen months and i got invited and interviewed within 24hrs..craziness 🙂 too bad the adcoms meet toward the end of the month..i got 3 weeks of lovely waiting...😉

Can anyone explain WHY CCOM is so slow? I'm almost embarassed to say how long I have been complete for and haven't heard anything. It's not life or death b/c I'm already in at DMU. I would be really interested in going down there though b/c everything I hear is really good. My stats are above average. What's the holdup?

Honestly, and I say this with all due respect, your perception of this process is naive. I can't tell you how many applicants that I've noticed on here and among friends that have been lesser stats-wise than me but have gotten interviews at places that I haven't heard from. The med app process is an incredibly huge crapshoot and I hope that you hear soon.

Perhaps a few phone calls and a letter of interest may get them to take a look at your application again. :luck: :luck:

It's naive of me to expect at least an email (or a response to my own emails) after almost 3 months of waiting? You and I have different definitions of naive then. Obviously I at least know enough about the application process to get accepted at a pretty good school.

After reading my last post I realized I sounded a little childish and I didn't want to come off that way. It's just that condescension, especially coming from other premedders, doesn't go over well with me. We're all in the same boat.

I'm also waiting but gave up hope at this point. However I don't care becuase I was accepted to NYCOM!!!!
