I started school on August 27th and received a whopping deposit from Dfas for $167.84 on the 31st. Not quite the check I was expecting.

Question: Do they prorate the stipend to reflect that I was only in school for 5 days before pay day or is this just an incorrect amount?

Prorated. Your last check will be prorated too. Sorry, 5 days does not a month make and the military pays AFTER you "work" not before.
