So two summers ago I got my EMT-B license and did about 30 hours of EMT training, as in riding along with members of my local volunteer company and I did help assist. But since then I went back to school not close by, then during the winter a close relative was admitted to the hospital where I spent most of my time during winter break, and now during this summer they've essentially told me that I'd have to start brand new and that theres a lot of people so picking up training shifts will be difficult. Then on top of that I'm deciding to take the MCAT this summer, and I am already very nervous to be an EMT. So I'm contemplating just applying for a job with AMR and just jumping right in there, but I honestly am lost right now and I want to apply next June after I graduate next year. Any advice I'll take, thank you in advance for any responses.

Clinical volunteering. You won't get paid, but any earnings as an EMT are pocket change compared to earnings as a physician. It's also conveniently once weekly. My physics lab partner was an EMT. He often looked like he was falling asleep because of the shifts he was working. He didn't make it to medical school. So volunteer, and spend the rest of that time studying for what's important.
