Hello everyone!

I applied to DO schools pretty late in the 2018-2019 cycle as I was waiting on my MCAT score.
My stats are MCAT #1: 495 II MCAT#2: 509 II Cum GPA: 3.55 II sGPA: 3.26
I applied quite broadly to DO schools and finished sending in my secondaries between end of november and early december. My school list is: AT Still SOMA and KCOM (missouri), PCOM, NYITCOM, AZCOM, BCOM, TUCOM CA, Touro NY, Touro NV, PNWU, WVSOM, KCUCOM, ICOM, KYCOM, LECOM, and DMUCOM. I was rejected from western pomona campus and CCOM. I received an II from KYCOM and PNWU. As the cycle is coming to an end, I was wondering how late these schools send II until and if anyone has stats similar to mine that applied around the same time as me that had luck in the past. This waiting game is NOT FUN.

Thanks in advance and good luck to everyone applying! 🙂

I just got another interview today and one last week. Also, my friend who is a resident told me that she applied to a DO school in February and got an interview in march. The interviews can keep coming up until march, but my recommendation would be to assume you have been rejected and start improving your application for the next cycle. Edit: I had my secondaries submitted September 19th

Don't start freaking out until March. Schools still have interviews after March, but mostly just for the Alternate List. Your MCAT is well above average for DO, your sGPA is a little below average, but it's above 3.2 so it shouldn't be a huge deal. Sending in your application later is probably a big reason you're not receiving as much love. Classes are more than 50% filled for sure by now so less and less students are being accepted. I interviewed at PNWU if you're curious what to expect.....you must be from the PNW. You should call up WVSOM and get an update on your application status.....lots of people have received love from doing this, including myself. Good luck, you'll get accepted......Hopefully this cycle, but definitely next.

While your 2nd MCAT was great some schools have different policies on handling retakes and this might be hurting you as well.

If secondaries are sent in by late August and early Sep is that still pretty early in the DO cycle?!

Dude your stats are not bad. If you dont get love this year apply EARLY next cycle and i would really really be surprised if you werent accepted. Youll get in somewhere eventually. Just be patient. Applying late and red flags are the only things i see that could hold you back. I really think its because you applied late. I cant stress this enough with premeds applying early is the easiest and single most advantageous thing you can do that is in your control

Yes it is, but the BEST is June obviously. There is still a lot of time to sneak in the back door. If it doesn't work out apply back on June 1st. You have 4 months to start volunteering and improving your application which with your stats I am sure you can get into a good DO school.
