Protein powder, protein bars, or lettuce...
I gain weight very easily, so I'm being 100% serious about the lettuce.
I've always wondered if sardines actually taste good.Sardines. Leave them in your mouth. Begin to chew in the test center.
Maybe I should try protein bars. I have the opposite problem, I can never seem to gain weight.Protein powder, protein bars, or lettuce...

Apple and peanut butter is a wonderful snack
Nutella, Mountain Dew, Doritos...
Twizzlers, skittles and diet coke. As a grad student in exercise physiology, I an usually studying the merits of physical activity and the dangers of diabetes. The irony is not lost
OP, I am in a hummus + carrots phase, myself 😉

Oatmeal with fruit in it is awesome
As far as healthy snacks go, I really love...
- Yogurt + granola + blueberries
- Cheese
- Apples + peanut butter
- Fruit really of any kind
- Veggies + ranch or hummus
- Beef jerky
- Trail mix
- Turkey pepperoni (really good microwaved for 1:30 -- they become crisp and chip-like! I like to spread some Laughing Cow cheese on each pepperoni chip. Mmmm)
Of course, I have been known to stray from the path of healthy... In which circumstances I like muffins, fruit snacks, lemon drops, Gardettos, Oreos, and Twizzlers. Not all at once...

Oh my lord... a SDN thread about food... why didn't I find this sooner?
Healthy snacks:
- pomegranate seeds (warning: will stain everything they touch)
- raw carrots
- a big 'ol bowl of strawberries
- "poor man's trail mix" – basically Cheerios mixed together with assorted nuts and some chocolate chunks
- Arabic flatbread with goat cheese (or some Laughing Cow wedges if you're in a bind)
On-the-go:
- Cool mint chocolate Clif bars. I buy a whole box of them and it lasts me about a month.
- PB&J
- Noosa yogurt. Expensive, but utterly delicious and the container is resealable!
Naughty snacks:
- Nutella sandwiches... need I say more? (with really thick, doughy French bread)
- I can eat my own weight in Kasugai gummies
- this bad boy:
Yup, those are dark chocolate chips and peanut butter chips.
- Trader Joe's cheese puffs om nom nom
- fresh mozzarella (or burrata) with tomato slices, olive oil, and basil

Wait @hellanutella why is caprese salad in your "naughty snacks" category?
But oh my gosh mmmmm everything you listed sounds phenomenal oh man

Mm, snacks! My favorite lately is those carrot coins (pre-sliced) dipped in hummus or a homemade spinach-artichoke dip. Hardboiled eggs, almonds, those little cheese rounds covered in wax, a spoonful of nut butter, celery sticks cut from the whitish part of the stalk... all super yummy and healthy! I also enjoy those 100-cal flat breads spread with a little butter or nut butter.
More decadent treats: raspberries topped with coconut milk or heavy cream, roasted macadamia nuts, homemade, sugar-free chocolate mousse (I make this every week and always have it on hand!), and Larabars (sugary, but good if you need quick carbs).
Just stick with lower carb stuff and you won't experiencing those annoying energy highs and lows, unless you're gonna work out, in which case you might wanna have a sugary/starchy snack.

Poom seeds and Noosa are soooo good! 😍 You have great taste in snackage.

Have you seen the fat content of mozzarella?
I can eat a whole container of fresh mozza in one sitting, so for me it is a definite "naughty" treat. Basically anything with tomato + cheese makes my heart go aflutter.Didn't read through the thread so 0 clue if anyone answered this. But, yes, hummus is good. I think it's awesome, personally. I get the red pepper style with some pita bread-- delicious. So I'm just curious about what you guys like to eat while studying. I'm kind of bored of my usual walnuts and almonds. I've been considering hummus with assorted vegetables. I've never even tried hummus before….is it good? I also sometimes make a fruit smoothie that I bring with me to school and it seems to get me through most of the day. I'd love to know what foods seem to get you through your marathon study sessions 🙂
Sadly, I eat unhealthy crap while studying. If sour patch kids or swedish fish made a healthy, calorie free alternative then I would jump on it instantly.

Ah -- I'm doing low carb, so high fat and high fiber are good since they keep you full!! More mozzarella for me 😉

We're snack twinsies, then. 🙂 Love low carb. Easiest eating plan/lifestyle ever. 😎 It's the yummiest way to lose and maintain a 40 lb weight loss.

Is burritos a snack?
Popcorn... smartfood white cheddar
Nuts and granola and cliff protein bars, because it keeps you full for maximum concentration.
If at the house, I eat "smart dogs" (the vegetarian hot dogs) and the sundried tomato Tofurkey suasage links. Quick, handheld, easy assembly meal, and surpisingly healthy and filling (the former is 3% sat fats, 0% unsat; the later has 30g of protein in each dog!!). And lets be honest, the extruded tubular composite animal-meat-chuck products endearingly known as hot dogs are hardly meat anyways, so might as well go with the guilt-free veg version.
Also, a rice cooker is essential for throughout-the-day snacking. Brown rice and a 68 cents can of black beans topped with sirracha.
This post was about 70% of my college experience.

Hmm I'm interested in this veg hot dogs. Any specific brand you suggest?
Pom hula
Try it, it's amazing.
And toast with jam

That word looked like something else.
I don't like to get my hands dirty so it's either fiber one, snickers, or clif bars for me.
I am a health nut so I always snacked on raw almonds, cashews, and peanuts (pun intended.) If you have the money, I'd also go with protein bars (gained some serious muscle mass doing this, no joke.)
My go-to rule with study snacks is that, if it requires both hands, you're not gonna study well. This was true for me, because my other free hand was used for rewriting notes, highlighting, and turning pages in the textbook.

The smart dogs are great texture and firmness, and probably indistinguishable from a generic hot dog, except they are shaped a bit more prismatic and less tubular.Hmm I'm interested in this veg hot dogs. Any specific brand you suggest?
The sundried tomato tofurkey dogs exceed the "real" thing. I was suggested to them by non-veg*n's in the surf club actually, and have even got my complete non-veg roommate on them, who says they are indistinguishable.
And just for the record, most hamburgers replacements are great. Avoid boca burgers though (they've had a boca burger Whopper at burger king and veggie patty sub at subway for a few years now), gardein is probably the most indistinguishable. Black bean burgers are good in the own right, simply as a fancy alternative burger. Ground red meat has to be the single worst thing you can eat, and the gardein burger is indistinguishable from any fast food one, id say slight better even. You're out of luck if you like the huge, bleeding restraunt style burgers though.
They'd probably even pass my snobbishly 'carnivorous' dad as well. I'm eating hot dogs on the reg now.
If they had healthy pizza my life would be set.
vs. standard dog

Most definitely. Tu quieres taco bell?Is burritos a snack?

Taco bell is the bane of my existence and the reason why I make extra visits to the restroom per day.
I mean, it is pretty disgusting. I really only eat, from time to time, at two fast food joints: 1- Chipotle and 2- A local place that shall remain nameless.Taco bell is the bane of my existence and the reason why I make extra visits to the restroom per day.

I just had chipotle last night. No regrets at all! I didn't know you could do two types of meat either!
Yes, but they 100% of the time they charge you for the more expensive meat. Also, you can double wrap the shell if that's your thing.I just had chipotle last night. No regrets at all! I didn't know you could do two types of meat either!

Taco Bell is disgusting but for some reason, I want it anyway. But mostly Chipotle - definitely snack sized portions.

Do they charge extra for the double wrap?

Yes, of course!! But, alas, I can hardly count that as a study snack.
I like veggies with ranch or hummus, crackers, cheese, sriracha peas, etc!

@ChiTownBHawks you ever had siracha peas before? They sound intense!
I like chile lime almonds. Good flavor and not bland at all. I also like craisins from Costco! have you guys had those?

I like those chili lime almonds too. Gives a little punch when you're feeling like something a little different than plain whole almonds (which are also delicious!). I've had craisins before, but not from Costco haha. But yum.

Right now I'm eating the seaweed snack actually! Ever heard?
I think the craisins are the same from either department haha
I have not but I'm willing to try them.@ChiTownBHawks you ever had siracha peas before? They sound intense!

Almonds are amazing, though. Hell, even the "bland" ones I find delicious. Never craized it up, personally.
Is that an unconventional way of saying sushi? If so, I envy you.Right now I'm eating the seaweed snack actually! Ever heard?

It's actually just baked seaweed haha it's pretty good but not a lot of people like it. It reminds me a sushi though!

You can get that stuff in different "flavors" too, I've seen at the grocery store. It's a pretty good salty snack.
