studying abroad spring before applying

If you can fit it into your schedule (and can afford it) I always recommend studying abroad. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity for most.

Myself and a few friends did this last semester and are currently applying. Takes a little bit of planning but 100% worth it. We all took our MCATs either in September before going abroad or in January shortly before leaving the country, and most of us wrote some drafts of our personal statement the fall semester before leaving. Additionally our program ended in May so we had several weeks to work on AMCAS when we returned home (you can obviously do this while abroad too but we didn't want to have to worry about it while there). As long as you can figure out the timing of your MCAT, there's no reason why it'd hurt you. Incredible experience if you can manage it 🙂 Good luck!
