Studying from an old Princeton Review book?

Sorry, I looked for other threads that discussed this but didn't find any. I have a Princeton Review MCAT CBT book, 2nd edition, from 2006. Is it too old to be relevant? I have Kaplan subject reviews to study from as well, but I was planning on trying to get through this PR book as well for extra practice. Basically, is the material so outdated as to be a waste of time? Thanks for your answers.

No, it isn't outdated. You'll be fine!

There are people on these forums that still take the "written" practice exams cause they can buy them off ebay for pretty cheap. So no worries, test material's the same 🙂

You can use MCAT book from the 1920 and you will be fine. The core subjects haven't changed that much in the last few decades (at least the subjects we are being tested on).

Your TPR exams should be fine to get a feel for the MCAT test. However, I suggest you invest in the online AAMC tests as you are nearing your MCAT day. These will really give you an idea of the actual MCAT. Good luck

Thanks for easing my mind so I don't feel the urge to go out and spend ANOTHER $100 bucks! And yea, I plan on purchasing and taking nearly all of the AAMC tests, plus I have exam krackers 1001 questions, TPR MCAT Workout, and I plan on getting either Kaplan MCAT 45 or TPR MCAT Elite closer to my test date.

On that note, does anyone have a suggestion between these two? Either Kaplan 45 or TPR MCAT Elite? Both are designed to help study for the most difficult MCAT concepts. So far I am leaning towards Kaplan 45.

If that's PR's big book, the problem isn't how old it is, it's that it was never a good source from the start. I'd suggest getting better material.
