Subinternships in Stanford

Hey ppl,

Anybody from stanford?

i was going through their PDF document and it stated that inetrnational students appplying for clerckships or subinternships in stanford , won't have their requests accomodated... is that right? in which students stated in american colleges have the only priority.

what about international students that want to get enroled in the residency program, once i read that statement i got REALLY depressed :S
like don't others stand a chance at all?

I emailed the coordinator of the residency course in the hospital and he said there's no problem, at the moment am awaiting a reply from the clerckships coordinator...

is there anyone that can tell us more about the system?

For example , is it a MUST to have ur step one of USMLE done before even doing an elective?

Anybody?

Thanks

You won't match into any surgical specialty. Yes, Neurosurgeons do make good money but other specialty can also get you decent income. If you want to come to the US and practice, be more realistic and pick things like Neurology instead of NS. How do you think you have a fair chance of matching when you haven't even taken Step 1 on top of being a foreign grad.

Dude thats called an elective .. NOT a profession/ Not applying for a job !! No big deal!
Neways, was just asking :S coz my dear there are other schools that accept foreign med students for E.L.E.C.T.I.V.E.S!! 😉 just chill hahhaha
