Hi all, just have a question..I know it's early but I like to plan ahead. Im debating whether to take the april 07 or july 07 MCAT. I'd probably get a better score taking it in july, but my application would be delayed.. what do you guys think I should do? Take the april mcat anyways, or wait till july? I have a 3.6 sci if that makes a difference.

Are those the only two test dates in that particular time frame? With the new computer based system I thought that you could take it many more times during the year. This would give you some more flexibility. I personally would take the April MCAT. The whole application process is pretty stressful, and if you plan to submit early it would be best to get it out of the way. At the same time you will most likely be studying for exams in your classes and the MCAT at the same time. I took the MCAT last April, and I really didn't do any studying outside of the Kaplan classroom. Hope this little bit if info. helps.

Take the April MCAT. Your score won't significantly change by delaying it a few months.

This will allow ample time to retake the MCAT if needed.

thanks for the replies.. I am leaning towards taking July because for the spring semester I have Orgo 2, orgo 1 lab, and cell bio 2.. To be honest, I am not sure if I will have enough time to pull off a 27-30 MCAT.. I have 8 weeks after finals to study for the MCAT if I take it in July which is why I would rather take it then..but you guys bring up good points. Anyone else have an opinion? Thanks
