I was putting off doing a secondary for a school until later this month. I thought the deadline was the 31st - it was actually yesterday. This isn't the first time this cycle that this happened to me. My excel spreadsheet was all f'ed up.

Aside from running full speed into a brick wall with my head, do I have any recourse here? I feel like if I call them up and ask they'll either say, "no, that's what a deadline is for, idiot," or say yes, take my money and put me in the automatic reject pile.

Any suggestions/insight?

This whole application process has made me feel like ****. So much BS and dancing around for these people and giving them my money. What a perfect end to my pathetic attempt.

This isn't the first time this has happened to you this cycle? What exactly are you doing? It's recommended to get those secondaries done quickly, not wait months after you're told about it.

I guess try calling them up to explain your problem b/c none of us can help you other than to solace you.

Dude. It's January. You should have had your secondaries done LONG ago. It isn't the school's fault that you were late. Also, even if you had gotten your secondary in a few days ago, you still probably wouldn't have gotten an II or an acceptance this late into the season unless your stats/LOR's are amazing.

If you don't get in this round, try again and BE EARLY. Get your AMCAS submitted June 1 and get your secondaries in within a couple weeks of receiving them.

lol wait a minute, you still havent submitted a secondary / you were waiting till the deadline? dude, its january. lost cause. keep your money, move on. even if they give you an extension, you don't have much of a shot at an interview.

You might want to read up on and think about the concept of rolling admissions and what it entails for applicants that wait until the deadline. Many schools started accepting applicants three months ago.

This is exactly what I was thinking.

Plus, the school isn't going to extend the application just for you. If they did, it would be to just take your money. Forget about it OP. That school is a lost cause for you now.

Yup. Don't beat yourself OP. You made a stupid mistake--learn from it, and apply early next year.

+1, except I would not call. There is nothing the school can do because you missed the deadline due to laziness.

Save your money, apply early, and get all your secondaries done during the summer.
