Hey guys-

I have interviews scheduled at two different schools, one for Nov 1 in Baltimore and one for Nov 2 in Philly. Being from the west, I thought I would be smart and try to schedule as many interviews as possible at a time on the east coast. Unfortunately, if I try to fly from Baltimore to Philly my flight price goes up by $500! Do you think there is a feasible way for me to get from Baltimore to Philly on the night of November 1st without paying $500? I thought about a bus or train, but I really wouldn't even know where to check to get info. Thanks for your suggestions. Congrats to everyone on all the interviews, btw.

P.S. Scooby, I swear I'm not a lurker, I just don't have enough time to get on the board and post often. 😉

Take the train from Baltimore to Philly 30th Street station. It's near pretty much all the Philly schools by cab. Train from Baltimore should take 90 minutes or so. Go to www.amtrak.com for schedules.

Or a bus if you want to save even more money, it should be around a 2 hr bus ride too. You might try the greyhound website or any of the other bus websites.

take the greyhound, it's usually like a $40 round trip and they have lots of busses, I've taken this back and forth a number of times. The only down side is that the baltimore greyhound station is rather sketchy. It is walking distance if you are interviewing at maryland, and a $5-10 cab ride from hopkins. In philly the greyhound station is pretty central in the city. This is gonna be a lot cheaper than the train, but baltimore's penn station is a lot nice than the greyhound station, and if you are interviewing at hopkins ask about the free shuttle that can take you to penn station. good luck at your interviews

Actually a cab from 30th st station to MCP hahnemann or temple would be quite expensive, you'd be much better off getting there by train. 30th street station is very convenient if you are interviewing at Penn (so take a train); bus station is very convenient if you interviewing at Jefferson. Which Philly school are you visiting?

Thanks for all the responses! I'm interviewing at JHU in Baltimore and at MCP Hahnemann in Philadelphia....so does it sound like it will be more convenient to get to MCP Hahnemann from 30th street station or the Greyhound bus station? I read that the AMTRAK stop in Baltimore is at the airport, which would be nice.....
