I am planning to take Chem 2 this summer because I was not able to take it this semester because of registration issues. Do med schools look down upon this compared to taking a science course during the regular academic school year? Can somebody please elaborate on this?

I am be no means an expert on this topic, so I won't comment. Sufice to say, this is the first time I've heard anyone say anything other then " They don't give a rat's ass."

I fail to see why it would be bad for your applications... You will doing the same things in the fall/spring anyway. Don't go by what i said, but i just don't see the logic if it did affect your chances.

~99.3782% WON'T care. I've reviewed the print-outs that medical school admissions committees get from AMCAS and it would be quite a lengthy process to review which applicants took which courses during the summer. If you multiply that by 1000's of applicants, you get a huge waste of time. Trust me, admissions committees are not wasting this time.

It may be interesting to know that I'll be retaking the general chemistry sequence this summer. It's just been too long since I took it. That demonstrates my lack of concern about the whole "classes in the summer thing."
