I applied to a Target summer internship program about a week ago and they have not called me back. 🙁 Is it safe to say that I will not be hearing from them again?

A week is not really very long.

How long is long? When do they usually reply back?

Well, since no one is replying to this thread I will explain my situation...I applied to a Target summer internship program and I'm thinking about applying to a Walgreens summer internship program also. I really want to work for Target and I'm worried that if I get a call from Walgreens first and I accept their offer, Target will call me afterwards and I won't be able to accept their offer. What would I do in this situation if I wanted to work for Target?

Uhhhhh... if you get an offer from someone that you don't really want to take, but would want to take if you don't get anything else, tell them to wait...

Rule #1: Apply everywhere possible whenever possible. Even if you don't have a chance, hopefully they'll get to know you, and when your resume is built up, they'll notice its been building up.

Isn't there someone you can call to find out roughly when Target will be making decisions regarding their internship? I know at my store the pharmacist has gotten emails about the program and has told me that we might be getting an intern but he has no idea who it will be yet (assuming we get one). You could always call and speak to the head pharmacist at the store you applied to; he should have at least some information for you.

I would think a reasonable timeframe would be maybe a month or so before the program actually starts. If you accept an offer with Wags then later get an offer from Target, just take Target and tell Wags you decided to pursue another opportunity.

I also applied for a Target internship and hadn't heard anything back, so I contacted the Pharmacy Manager at the store I applied to and let her know that I hadn't heard anything back from the corporate offices. She gave me the intern coordinator's email address and had me email him. Within days, I had my interview scheduled and the lines of communication are wide open.

I have the luxury of being a current Target pharmacy technician/student. Since this is considered a corporate internship, I had to apply online just like everyone else. I would suggest going in person to the store(s) you applied to and giving the Pharmacy Manager your contact information and ask for theirs. That way, you can keep in touch via email, which is the primary mode of communication at Target.

Message me if you have questions!
