Summer Undergraduate Research Programs (minority and others)

Just made my account last night, but I've been looking through the posts for a while.
I just want to know who else is applying to these summer programs or has participated in any of them and has any advice.
- Emory SURE
- Einstein SURP
- Einstein DSSROP (haven't applied yet because the 2014 application hasn't been posted)
- Rutgers (REU, RiSE, and SURP)
- Leadership Alliance (Top 3: Columbia, NYU, Weill Cornell)
- also applied to Columbia via their online application

Some of these programs are specifically for "under-represented minorities" and some are for everyone.
I'm a black female and I attend an HBCU.
Has anyone applied or participated in these programs?

There is a thread specifically for summer research programs. Do a search and post there
