Hey guys, im interviewing at SUNY buffalo 9/3, and i was wondering if anyone had a link to Buffalo Interview questions, because ive heard SUNY buffalo has quite difficult questions that you should prepare for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good Day

the interview database has a collection of all the questions they ask.

and btw, I didn't find them to be terribly difficult. maybe a little odd, but not really hard. and predictable, given that everybody asks the same set of questions.

hi, i'm new to sdn and am also interviewing at suny buffalo in september. i'm out of state and am not too familiar with the area. are there (cheap) hotels near the school? my flight gets in at midnight the night before my interview and i would only need to stay there overnight... seems silly to pay for a hotel for 8 hours, but it sounds like they don't have student host programs...

thanks!

There is definitely a student host program. Contact someone in admissions, or at the OME office and ask for a listing. I was offered it last year when I interviewed, and I'm pretty sure they're still doing it this year.

If you want a hotel, go for somewhere in Amherst (it's close and the hotels tend to be nicer). I would recommend the Holiday Inn, Hotel Indigo, or anywhere right by UB's north campus (if you map them, it's really obvious where they are). From there it's only about a 10 min drive down to the south campus, so would be a cheap cab ride, or if you hit up a current student most would pick you up (hint, hint) if you wanted to get there early (our classes start at 8, not sure when you need to be there).

Also, a ton of hotels by the airport are super cheap, but the few I've seen were pretty dirty, especially when you only save ~ $20 compared to staying in Amherst. When you get your interview packet, which they mail, it will have a list of people participating in the student host program as well as a list of recommended hotels. Most of the hotels on that sheet offer discounts if you tell them you are interviewing at UB.

Good luck, I was OOS but chose to go here. I know it's only week 2, but I absolutely love this school and my class! This is one school that is highly underrated, so come in with an open mind!

awesome; thanks so much for your response! 🙂

I just interviewed there today and the most challenging question I got was to explain my research. Just find something you have in common with the interviewer and talk about that. This way you can direct the way the interview goes and you are completely comfortable.

Hey, i just interviewed there too, i interviewed on September 3rd. I found the interview very relaxed and laid back. Both interviews i had felt more like a conversation then actual interview. Also it was kinda odd i didnt get asked by either interviewer the standard questions about Why Medicine, Healthcare which i was prepared for lol. All in all thought very good experience and i really hope i get in.

did they still require an essay? is it something you prepared for? some of the questions on the interview thread look a bit hard!

i'm interviewing sept 24, saw the questions and freaking out a little bit.

by the way, how far is the buffalo airport from the school and is a cab the best way to get from the airport to the hotel?

To all of you who got interviews, what was the approximate turnaround time in between going complete and getting an invite? I've been complete since early August, and all I see on my status page is "NO ACTION." I'm OOS, so I assumed they were just getting the in-state ppl done first, but it seems like some of you are OOS as well, so I'm just wondering.

How do you have access to the status page? Is there a link?

Okay I see. Thanks for responding. Anyone else?

Has anyone else gotten a "NO ACTION" too? Is that basically a hold? where Im in some sort of a limbo before "Under Review" because Im OOS and I dont have "phenomenal" stats?
