33 MCAT, AO GPA 3.3, BPCM GPA 3.27

Not as good as NJDIF.

Did anyone know of a rejection from Upstate? Just to make sure one more time that "Hold" means hold and not a rejection spelled as "HoLD".

How long does it take people to get complete there? I filled out the secondary like a month+ ago and sent the signature page and payment 2.5 weeks ago (from the US, so mailing time should be short). Haven't heard anything yet.

Got mine today too... how disappointing...

I looked back in other threads and saw that a couple of people originally put on hold were offered interviews in December, so not all hope is lost. However, most of the people wrote that they later got rejections. Also, I found this (hopefully it will help clear things up):

I hope to explain our process a bit - our first screening of an application will result either in an interview, a reject or a hold (BTW - there is no Priority Hold). We try to have a 2 week turn-around time on your application. Sometime in December we go back through all of the "Hold" applications and re-review. We look at everything (yes, I would accept additional letters or updated information, if you feel it will help you, but don't get carried away with the letters! ;-) ) At this point, we either select for an interview or deny the application. Several students that were placed on Hold last year were, in fact, invited for an interview (I don't know the %).

If there is anything I forgot to clarify, please let me know...

Good luck! If you want some confidence, just remember - there's no reason they can't reject you right away. They have to wait until 10/15 if they're going to accept you. 😀

Yep, just got my hold letter yesterday. I was really confused at first because most schools call it a wait list. Way to be difficult upstate . . . oh well, like everyone else said, at least its not a rejection . . . yet, lol. Best of luck to everyone!!

Yep, put on Hold too....my mom had told me, and in anger and sadness used the letter as a coaster to hold my drink.

her mcat was a 31 (i dont know the breakdown), she went to ivy undergrad and her bpcm was approx 3.3 (she was a physical science major and was applying as a ny state resident b/c she was born and raised in ny)- she had both bench and clinical work exp and was a serious musician and on a team sport

Is the status page the same as the application summary page? I don't see anything that says status there... just a list of required stuff and when it was received.

Man, I didn't even think of checking until you mentioned it. My "complete" has also disappeared.

I recently received an invite from Upstate. Checking my status page, the "complete" is also missing from mine. So maybe that means you'll get an interview invite?

Watch out though..the guy who calls you sort of sounds like a robot .
