I just received news that I failed Step 2 CS. Being an AMG with good clinical feedback, good preparation and coming from a school with very strong standardized patient training, this is all very surprising. Out of the batch released yesterday, 8 of us from my medical school failed. I have already matched to an IM residency and they are aware of my situation.
Is a recheck worth it due to high volume of failures from our institution? The chances for reversal seem remote. I do not need it to graduate or start residency. However, I am pretty worried it will be a red flag when I apply for fellowship.
Has anyone been in similar position?
