Suspect LoR

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I have this LoR. It's 2 small paragraphs and the last sentence says I suspect she will be a successful resident and I am happy to write this letter on her behalf. What do you think?

I think it is a weak letter. I would not use it unless you have no other choices

Unfortunately, I too would have to disregard this letter. It is nice that you were able to read it ahead of time, but it doesn't seem like it would help you much. If I were looking at it, I would start thinking, "wow, only 2 paragraphs?....i guess the author didn't know them that well or didn't feel strongly enough to elaborate on their relationship.".

Additionally, the word "suspect" is not a statement of conviction and would worry me if it was in my letter. How many total letters do you have and what specialty will you be applying to?

This is interesting, sorry to sidetrack a bit, but I assume you didn't waive your right to see your letters? How many of you folks have seen all your letters? That would definitely have cut down on the stress of this process a bit.

Its messed up, but you can waive your right to see the letter, but still see it. You just don't have the "right" to see it. If your LOR writer hands it to you it is fair game.

Awesomely confusing eh?

All of my attendings secretary's have given me copies of my "wavied" letters regardless lol.

I think this might be the case for most people as well.
