I work in a low volume retail pharmacy. I don't have a tech 75% of the time, so I end up doing a lot of housekeeping tasks. I only have one part-time pharmacist who is barely finishing his scripts on a daily basis.
He is so far behind every day, I don't even dare to ask him to do anything that is not script filling related. The "anything else" are just very basic stuff other than checking scripts, such as staying organize, filling supplies (paper, labels, vials), filing scripts, etc. It would be nice if he can take the initiative, or open his eyes and see what needs done.
After over a year I finally had it that other day. I got sick of unfolding and refolding his scripts (the full size paper kind) before I could file them way. All I want are scripts to be uniform and neat, so when we get audited they are much easier to find. Folding scripts whichever way he feels like is driving me nuts, and believe me he doesn't just fold them in half. It's more like thirds, fifths, or whatever.
I left him a note showing him how I fold my all my full size scripts, where back sticker goes, etc. I didn't do it to insult him, but I need things to be neat. The matter of fact is we don't have time to mess with scripts longer than we have to because we don't have a tech. Yes, we have PDX, only pharmacists handle back sticker/fold scripts, so there is no one else to blame.
Okay, this is getting way too depressing....trying to do everything in ways to save a few minutes, but I really don't think it's too much to ask.
