switching from MD/PhD

If I wanted to switch one of my only MD/PhD schools listed on AMCAS to straight-up MD, do I just update this info on AMCAS? Should I send the school a written letter? Can I send this letter with my supplemental app, or would that increase the chances of its getting lost (and therefore not being noticed). Thanks!

I think it would be best to just call the school and ask how they want you to make the switch.
