Swore during my interview when answering questions...am i done for?

Assuming this isn't a troll post, I think this shows complete immaturity and lack of self control. There are ways to articulate your opinion, no matter passionate you may be, without swearing. I think you're done for there.

you think so? i thought it was a well timed and executed quip, my passion was burning hot sunlight yellow. I really think they saw that and perhaps will look the other way?
 
Your communication skills are under scrutiny and you have shown an inability to communicate frustration without resorting to bad language. Unless you are academically in the 1% and related to a university donor in the 1% you may be done for at that school.

Dammit. I didn't look at the name of the OP before I wasted my time with this thread.

That said, I've been in the Navy for almost 5 years. It's gonna take a lot to not swear during my interviews.
 
I dont recall who it was but i got called out by someone for calling OP a troll and not answering his question on another one of his posts.

If that someone that called me out sees this i hope they realize y OP is mega troll.

So, yes, docs do swear all the time.

But an interview is supposed to demonstrate you at your very best. If you lack the self control and presence of mind to use polite language for one whole hour when you know darn well you are under scrutiny, the adcoms are not wrong to assume that you are as immature as you appear to be.

You asked. You were given thoughtful answers. And then you tried to continue to argue it because you don't like the answers you were given.

Take the lesson. Once you let words out of your mouth, there is no taking them back. And there is often no opportunity to even explain or apologize. You probably burned a bridge. Grow up and don't do it again.
 
Lol, I'm aware of the poster, but I have to say, my interviewer cussed worse during the interview that I let out a few expletives towards the end also. I should report him, perhaps. I don't plan to attend this school after some further thoughts so it doesn't matter to me.

Trump swears all the time, for good measure and added oomph and putzah

It really can be an effective way to show your passion!

I swear like a drunken baptist preacher when the spirit moves me and the context is appropriate.

It is never appropriate during an interview.

If you are still arguing this point, why did you even ask anyone's opinion. Clearly you already have decided not to accept the answers.

"Effective" does not equal "professional." An acceptance at this school is unlikely.

Recognize when you're in an appropriate setting and when you're not. Read the room. For example, the attending I'm rotating with often swears like a sailor, but never in the vicinity of patients or their families.
