Hello everyone.

I am interested in getting some input from all you fine people about whether or not to sign up for my schools prosection class which is apart of the anatomy and physiology honors program. The program is a independent study and worth 1-5 sem units, which you choose how many units by how many hours your willing to invest.

Or

I can be a TA for cellular and molecular biology aka gbio I. I only receive one unit here as it has only one lab per week.

I'm currently signed up for 16 units next sem consisting of gchem II, gbio II, stats, ethics and I think I would be struggling if I try to do both options next sem with these classes. So, finally my question is what would look better? The unique experience of working on cadavers or being a TA for a very informative bio class.

Background info: 3.57 cGPA, TA for Gchem I

Thanks and sorry for the long post. IMO there should be a sticky thread for EC questions like this. Happy New Year!

Would you be actually prosecting the cadavers yourself? If so, then that is a bit unique. In my anatomy class, it was just basically demonstration with already prosected bodies, kinda boring if you ask me.

I would probably go with the TA though - leadership and all that jazz.

Let me elaborate a little more. The prosection class is where I would actually work on cadavers, rather than just observing them as we did in anatomy. The class is like being a TA in that you have to get invited to do it. So it is a little more unique than just looking at already dissected cadavers and being tested on them.

I read the title as "TA or Prosecution" wondering why you would want to go to jail rather than be a TA lol

If you're looking for educational value, the prosection class would be best. If what you want is an asset to your application, the TA position is better, because people immediately understand what means, whereas (as you've seen in this thread) you'll have to explain the prosection class in order to rebut the automatic assumption that it's worthless. And you might not have the opportunity to do so on your application.

Good point. I just hate having to pass up any sort of opportunity that would make my application stand out. I am going to ask if I can do the prosection class during another semester and I'm going to stick with the TA position. Thanks everyone for the responses.
