Hello,

I am asking this question on behalf of my friend.He is an IMG.He doesn't possess either a green card or U.S passport.The thing is that he does not have USCE. However,he did very well on step 1 and step 2,scoring 261 and 265 respectively.

I suggested him that he should take a gap year and do some "meaningful" research in a particular field/subject and get it published in a journal but he insists that he wants to go ahead and apply for the match.I personally believe that it will be very difficult for him to get matched as he does not have any USCE,despite having great scores.

Can any one shed some light regarding this issue ? Do you think my approach is justified and reasonable ?.

he will match even without CS lol jk

no seriously, he will match

250+ scores equal 2 months of clinical electives.

250+ >= 225 + USCE

he should write a decent personal letter though and do good in the interviews.
