Hi everyone. I took Bio 1 at college and used AP credit for Bio 2. I took Anatomy and Phys (lecture + lab), microbiology lecture, biochem lecture, genetics lecture + lab, evolution lecture, and a nutrition analysis lab.

My advisor has said that this fulfills general bio requirements at med schools ... although i am very skeptical looking at different posts!

I am registered to take Bio 2 next semester just to be safe but would it look bad taking an intro course after all my upper level bio courses? Or should I just trust my advisor that I will be fine with what I have?

thanks everyone.

It seems unnecessary assuming you did well in upper-level courses. It gives the sign that you're taking something easy right after the tough course work. Can you add some other difficult courses with that lower-level course? Essentially, to clarify:

1. If you did well in upper-level courses, it wouldn't matter, although it kind of comes off as slacking.
2. If you didn't do well, then I would advise it, but add some higher level courses to assure the adcoms you aren't taking an easy courseload.

I'd like to know what others think of this too... I took a lower division Bio course after I completed several upper divs because I wanted to bump up my sGPA and it was the only science course that I hadn't already taken that fit my schedule.

I took it alongside Biophysics and Astrophysics too, so I'm hoping that adcoms don't view it as if I were trying to take an easy semester.

You're fine.
