I am working full time 40hr/week @ day time, and taking 2 courses in community college @ night. I need to take organic I, II, Anatomy and physiology. I just wonder I can take them in community college. These courses are not really offered at night in university. where should I take them? in University (in which time is so difficult) or CC? Thank you.

Here's my opinion:

I was in the same boat as an undergrad...35-40 work week schedule with classes that were to be taken all before 5p.

Well I worked nights and weekends and sucked it up. If I were you, try to work at night and weekends and go to the University. It will look damn good if you can do that!!!

I want to let you know that Dental schools do not care if you take your courses at CC or the University. They would much rather see you do good in a course than bad. I took some of my prereqs at CC and no dental school brought that up. I aced my CC classes yet did okay in my University classes and no dental school brought that up. I think a good way to keep dental schools from getting suspicious is to ace the DAT. If you can pull 20's across the board the schools are happy, and so are you.

You don't need to work on weekends just to impress schools, and pay more. However, after your prereqs I would advise you to take upper level courses such as biochemistry, microbiology, neurobiology, and histology at Universities to illustrate you can handle university curriculum.

Glad to know you from Seattle (UW). I was from Western Washington University (WWU) in Bellingham with BS in Electrical '97. I worked for Boeing and now in Lockheed in TX as a software engineer (a full time employee), and interested to dental school. I am taking and retaking 2 courses BIO and CHEM in CC because some of them are almost 10 years old. Next courses are ORG I, II, and Anatomy and Physiology, and as I said these are not offered at night in U. So far, I am doing very good grade in CC, and intend to continue taking them in CC; However, I heard I should take them in U, which will confict my work schedule (I support myself...hihihi).
Hope to hear you guys advise. Thank you.

pddt,
I graduated with mech engr in '96. I went to TCC NE campus for bio 1 and 2 and did organic chem by corrospondence. I decided to not retake general chem because it would work with the schedule of my wife graduating college, so I just studied my ass off for the DAT. I think organic chem is available at UTA at night. I had looked into it in case dental school made me take the lab. I had done the lab before but I wanted to retake organic chem for the DAT. I would recommend taking the classes at the CC and doing well on the DAT. I don't think dental schools will care where you took the classes as long as you DAT scores are better than the averages.

pongebob,
ORG 1 is offered in UTA this summer @ night, but ORG 2 is in Fall @ day. I am studying for DAT now, but I have no clue in ORG part.
Thank for your info.
