For those of you who took semester off in undergrad, what did you do in your time off and did it come up in your interviews?

Is it ok to take a semester off if the reason is legit?

There are people who take time off from college b/c of family emergencies, illnesses, and other reasons. I have taken time off to do an internship off-campus. As long as the reasons are legit, and you're able to explain them, you'll be fine.

However, taking time off for the following reasons may not look favorably upon you: Got kicked out of your college, criminal charges, laziness, etc.

i took one semester off from school because i was very sick and had surgery. it did come up at interviews, but not so much the taking time off as my illness. if you just feel like you need a break, i'm not sure what their take would be on that. i don't see that it would be a big problem though- everyone gets burned out from time to time. but be prepared to justify it i guess.. good luck

yeah, pretty much what i said when you PMed me (and probably a bunch of others)

TAKE TIME OFF!!! Go do something different. Live a little. When else will it be this easy to fit it into your life? I have one question though. Why only one semester? Take a year or two.

i dont think it matters at all. just tell them what you were doing.

gl :luck:
