Taking April MCAT bad idea for post bacc esp. Gtown SMP??

Since Gtown SMP begins accepting applications in January, would it be a bad idea to take the MCAT in April? By the time an applicant sends in his/her application he or she would be behind by almost five months, so wouldn't this be a disadvantage?
