I've heard about the importance of applying early as dental schools work through rolling admissions. However, I'm wondering how much of a delay it would cause to take my DATs a couple days after sending in my ADEA AADSAS application when it opens (sometime early June? is there a date set for this yet?).

So if aadsas opens on June 6th (hypothetically) and I send it in then, would me taking the DATs on June 12th prevent me from being "first batch"? How long does it take for schools to receive my DAT score (do schools even begin look at your application without your DAT scores?) if I take it on the 12th.

Also, if someone who understands how "first batch", "second batch", etc. works, would you mind breaking it down for me?

You should def apply as soon as you have it filled out. The DAT scores will get there shortly after. Email each school you are applying to and ask them if they will accept an unofficial score report while the official one is on the way. Some do some don't. Ive been in this scenario but didnt take the dat till sept.

So no you dont have to have your scores in to be in the first batch. Your scores will go out separately after you take the dat

And i took my dat in sept and aadsas sent out my scores in oct. so it takes a few weeks which is why faxing the unofficial report was good!
