To those that will be fasting in august, are you taking your DAT before Aug 11, or are you goign to take it sometime while you are fasting?

Ive scheduled mine for the 10th but i'm not sure that I will be ready, I'm preparing as if I will take it the 10th but 21 days doesnt seem liek its enough 🙁

So i may reschedule to mid/late august....

what do you guys think??

omg ramadan!!! i know!! im facing the same problem. I got my app in and submitted it and i was scheduled to take it august 10th, the day before ramadan but one my family members is having surgery a few days before the 10th and so im going to lose a few studying days as my extended family will be over and then ramadan starts so i changed my date to the 22nd of august. It may be a little bit later but hopefully i'll be able to do better this way. I dont know how im going to study and fast but im hoping since its the holy month God will help me out!!!!!! hahahaaa
goodluck!!!

yes def, i am fasting no matter what, just contemplating on rushing and taking it before ramadan

or being more comfy with how much ive reviewed and done and taking it during ramadan?

tough decision..

research shows that you are more alert and concentrated (especially in the morning) when you are fasting as opposed to not, which is why i am taking mine at 8am. so fasting should not be a disadvantage

Throw away your superstitious garbage and you'll do well. If not, then you're an idiot.

Sorry, had to tell you religious folks the truth.

really? good to know 👍

i guess i'll figure it out 2 weeks from now, to see how prepared i am!

thanks for all the feedback everyone 🙂

If you think your studies will be disturb because of Ramadan then you psychologically already made up your mind not to focus as much. Try not to think about it and keep doing what you gotta do and you'll be fine.

I'm registered for the 18th at 8am as well. InshAllah (God willing) we should do fine, if not better, considering that it is Ramadan after all.

don't mind the haters. here's my advice: if you can, schedule your exam for 8am or really early, b/c you'll be more focused then and that's right after the morning meal. you're already going to be awake, so you won't have trouble getting out of bed or any of those worries. also, don't make this an excuse to do poorly on the DAT. if you create excuses for yourself, you won't do as good as you would have hoped. so stay strong, try your best, and you will see results! 🙂

agree, thanx 👍

Can I get an InnshAllaah as well for those who are taking their Test before the Ramadan that we all do well. 🙂

LOL, is this the muslim thread?

Yeah, I wanted to take mine before Ramadan. I think it would be difficult during, esp since we will be fasting for longer days. Also the taraweeh prayer will be around 10:00 (isha time) so expect to come home around 11:30... then the suhur is going to be before 5:00AM so expect to wake up at 4:30 or so. Its just going to be tough IMO.

But besides all of that... Happy RAMADAN 🙂

Ramadhan is going to be rough with studying but im thi nking right after suhur should be the best time to study. For those of you who dont have kids..ya'll have no excuse not to study! InshaAllah Ramadhan comes with its blessings...so dont forget to fast as good as you study. Its definietly worth more than anything we are doing here...

i agree with everyone, studying while fasting is impossible for me. i just get really lazy. so studying after suhoor is the best advice. and schedule your test early morning so you are not that hungry. good luck to everyone who is taking the test before or during ramadan. inshAllah

Are most of you going to be going to taraweeh, as your break time at 10 pm?

Inshallah, everyone will do well in the month of Ramadan!

InnshAllaah everyone will do good. People taking it in the month of Ramadan the ones taking before and after the month of Ramadan.

Well put. Let's all be respectful of others, regardless of whether we share their beliefs or not.

I am taking my Test on August 1st InnshAllaah. People, if you can, please Pray for me that I Ace the DAT InnshAllaah, Aameen!

No, just people who literally believe that there are angels next to you while you test.

dude respect people's beliefs. Everyone has there own way of getting through things. If you don't believe in it fine, but don't be ignorant and bash other people's beliefs. You are a bio student, i thought you would bigger brains than saying garbage like this.
