I'm a second semester senior. I am thinking about taking immunology pass/fail. My science GPA is 3.97 and I already have more than the 2 bio class requirements. My only concern is how it might look if I am waitlisted at a school this coming March? (top ten schools)

If your sGPA is a 3.97 I'm sure you'll be able to get an A in immuno. It's difficult, but no where near as difficult as everyone makes it out to be.

Why would you pass/fail it?

this class is in its infancy and the teacher seems to be a stickler, so the point is that anything less than an A will drop my sGPA and there is no guarantee I'd get an A..

i would p/f...i mean, why not? i just p/f biochem last term.

im just concerned as to whether med schools would care about a p/f if i were on their waitlist and I wanted to get in

P/F is fine. Just don't make it a habit.

Immuno is a fun class. I didn't find it hard at all but of course that varies from school to school. But seeing as you have a 3.97 sGPA I'd say just take it for a letter grade.

I think P/F classes make one less motivated to try their best.

Immuno was my favorite class of all time. Personally I wouldn't p/f it. But it's your decision

You all seem to like immuno. I was debating whether to take this one or endocrinology.

I wish my school had a P/F system.

At my school, it is quite rare for an undergrad to make an A in immuno (grad students and undergrads take the same section).

It's known as the "four-oh breaker".
