is this wise? I'm planning on preparing for the MCAT's during the Spring Semester but I'm afraid i won't be able to fully focus on both school and the Kaplan course.

It's pretty difficult to keep up with if you're taking regular classes. Though it may depend also on how much free time you have, and are willing to devote to it. I was working, in addition to school and ended up paying all the money for it, but missed quite a few of the classes and did virtually none of the homework. It's a pretty descent investment and I wished I had utilized it better, so don't make my mistake. 🙂

I think that it's definitely doable. Two of my good friends in college enrolled in a Kaplan class during our spring semester while both taking 16ish credits and being involved in other activities. From what I remember, they had classes twice a week (nights) for 2-3 hours at a time. Like what the other poster said, there's a lot of outside work to be done with these classes, and you should realize that attending class but doing minimal outside work would definitely be detrimental. That being said, I think it's perfectly doable, but expect your weeknights and all weekends to be full of work.

I'm in sort of a bind because I'll end up taking physics in my senior year, which ends spring 2009. I wanted to apply in '09 and I know that the earlier I submit my applications the better my chances. If I do the Kaplan course in the summer (around June or July) will my MCAT scores be in before the application deadlines? Will the application be considered incomplete without the MCAT scores?I also work full-time...🙁

With the computer based you get your score more or less a month after you take it. Usually you can take it all the way to sometime in septmber and still have it count for the current cycle (I think, better make sure with individual schools) Unfortunately your mcat isn't like an lor, I don't think many adcoms will even touch your application until they have it in.
