Hey guys! I was wondering if I can take 1-2 pre-reqs for dental school at a community college.

I graduated in Summer of 2018 from a 4 year University and majored in Biology. My overall GPA was 3.82 and sGPA was 3.7. I was originally pre-med and didn't decide to pursue dentistry until after graduated (I know :/) My question is, I noticed that many school require Microbiology. I didn't take Microbiology in Undergrad and I was wondering if I could take it at a community college during the summer of this year, while having applied when applications open up this this.

Depends which programs you're applying to. I know Tufts and BU does not allow it. Others have unit limits or don't mind at all. I took physics at a community college after graduation and I still got a few interviews.

Thanks for responding. Did you take em after graduation though? Like if i take microbiology as a non degree seeking class can that still count as the pre req thats required?

Yes, you can take pre-reqs post-graduation and they fulfill the requirements.

As far as taking them at a community college, I would try to take them at a university of possible

Yes, I enrolled after graduation and I reported it as a post-baccalaureate course. It was verified without any problems.

Oh did you just take physics after graduation? Or did you take other classes as well? I thought for post bacc programs, you have to take multiple classes

Thanks for responding. So lets say I want to apply when applications open up this June and have all the other classes required except the one I need. Can I still apply and put in that I'm taking it during the Summer semester? Even though I have already graduated? How would that affect my undergrad GPA?

Yes, you can do that.
Your GPA will be calculated without the class and when you take the class and send in your transcript to ADEA AADSAS your GPA will be updated. It will not affect your undergrad GPA, only your overall GPA.

It's considered an informal post-bacc. There's no structure. I just took as many classes as I needed. So, physics I and II, anatomy, and physiology.
