Currently a senior in undergrad and planning on taking the MCAT in April. Already taking a year off and I hope to have my scores and apps submitted by this summer so the year gap doesn't turn into two. I have taken all the prereqs during the first three year of undergrad and now seem to be forgetting most of the fundamentals (esp general chem).

I have all the examkrackers (along with audio osmosis), TBR, Princeton and Kaplan books yet don't know how to start to studying.
I don't have the discipline nor motivation to start self studying, and as far as classroom lectures go, I've heard horror stories of instructors reading off the books. I live in NY and I know instructors vary depending on location.
From your own experience, has anyone tried one on one tutoring from any of these prep companies?

What would be the recommended approach to study for the MCAT starting in Jan for the April MCAT? Is this possible?

Looking forward for any helpful advice. Open to any suggestions. Thanks =)

there is an MCAT specific sub-forum on SDN for all things MCAT related

if you are studying by yourself, please consult the SDN2'ed schedule, which is made for three months.

I haven't tried one on one, but I did a TPR prep course and was very pleased by their instruction and my result.

TPR online prep course hires only the best of their teachers and I went from 31 to 36 after having taken their course. Of course, I put in the due diligence (taking a practice test everyday for a month, REALLY reviewing what I got wrong, doing all the course work)

Sounds like you need to be disciplined to study. Go with TPR prep course. If you can muster up the motivation to self study go with SN2ed.

I have heard some good things about the Kaplan and TPR online courses from my friends. They said that Kaplan and TPR try to pick the best teachers to teach their online courses so you end up getting your money's worth.
