Very recently, I became interested in the MD-PhD program and signed up to take the MCAT end of June. In reading the other SDN posts, I have not been able to build consensus on what this would mean for the timeline of my application.

I am hoping to submit the primary in early June so that I can get verified and pre-writing my secondaries, while waiting for my MCAT score to be processed.
1. Does this sound like a reasonable plan?
2. Also, would having my primary processed end of July (when the MCAT score is received by AMCAS) make me late in the cycle?

All that really matters is your complete date. This is the date that a school has:

- A verified AMCAS application with LORs/Transcripts/MCAT
- A secondary application with the fee paid.

Based on your plan you will be fine. The more competitive the school, the more being early will help you it seems.

For reference, I was complete at the school I will be attending in October. Never held me back.

Thanks ktyler for the advice. Do you know if this timeline varies between MD v. MD-PhD?
