Would taking two upper level biology class be too much for instance Biochemistry and Human anatomy and Physiology 1 lecture and lab? With rest of classes being like possibly basic stats and other electives

My fifth semester, I took OChem lab, three upper-level bio courses, two religion courses, and a dance class. And I did research in a microbiology lab. And I met and started dating my wife. I didn't do any other ECs that semester. I got an excellent GPA. So yes, it's possible. Easy? No. But it can be done.

It shouldn't be too much, especially considering you'll take far more intense science coursework at double (or triple) the pace in med school.

How important is it for me to take two upper levels in a semester considering I have W Bio 1, W bio 1 lab, W bio 1, W bio 1 lab, W ochem 1, W ochem 1 lab, all my W’s for bio came freshman year ochem sophomore year? Took ochem 1 and lab A in both, took ochem 2 lecture and lab A in both, bio 1 B lecture, bio 1 lab A, bio 2 currently on pace for A, bio 2 lab on pace for A or A-. This coming fall semester may be my last and I have to take biochemistry but taking Another upper level on top of thAt is optional. If I don’t do another upper level it will make my semester easier just focusing on biochemistry but doing well in two upper levels would look impressive especially with my circumstances.

Single semesters are unlikely to get much scrutiny. They are going to look at trends.

Two upper level sciences in a semester would be pretty normal, especially towards the end of a science degree.

Do you think I should or not?

Be bold, be brave. Take em both. Besides, you really should have the capacity to handle it at this point, even if it is unpleasant.

That sounds like an insane amount of work. Research, upper divisions and a relationship? Damn.

I don't know anyone in undergrad who hasn't taken at least 2 upper level bio classes at the same time...Right now I'm in 4, and its stressful but manageable.

You should be able to do it. How can you handle medical school if you can't handle two sciences at the same together?

I have taken two sciences classes together like physics 1 and bio 1 and currently bio 2 and physics 2 but not two upper level science classes together

I did 4 grad level microbiology classes in the first semester of my senior year. It's doable.

I took Developmental Biology, Tissue Biology, Advanced Cell Bio, and Genetics in 1 semester. Got a 3.85 GPA so it's totally possible

Just took those two together as well in med school, along with like 4 more classes.

What do you think medical school is going to be like?

Since I graduated with my bachelor’s in 3 years, I was taking at least 2 sciences a semester. One semester I took 3 upper level courses. It’s definitely doable! In my experience I wanted to focus more on the sciences than the other courses, cause I’m a bio major and I enjoyed those more. Just make sure you give the appropriate amount of attention to whatever electives you’re taking and you’ll be fine.
