I am a P2 student and just got an invitation with Target for its internship program. I have read the previous slides and know they have lots of behavioral interview questions for their pharmacist position. But what about internship program? is it like that too? Or it's more general HR question like why target, what's your weakness or strength? Thank you!

I interviewed with the internship program about 2 years ago. The process used to be a 2 interview process with one phone interview first with a recruiter. If you did well on that, you got an onsite interview with a regional office. It is mostly behavior based questions. They will ask questions like "Why do you want to be a pharmacist?" and "Why do you want to work for Target?". The onsite interview lasted less than an hour and the phone interview lasted about 20 minutes. I was offered a position about a week after my onsite interview.

ive heard Target pays waaaaayy less than anywhere else for interns, just fyi

How do you like the internship in Target? can you choose a Target close to your school or home?

I ended up not taking the job with them. The pay associated with my offer was competitive with all of the other internships in my area. You let them know during your interview what region you are interested in and they assign you a store from there. My offer was for a store that was about 45 minutes away from home.

I did the internship last Summer. You choose the area you want to be in and then it depends on whether or not they have mentors who can take you on. They won't put you in a store that struggles, they like to make it a good experience with a store that is "green" according to their metrics.

Overall they treat their interns really well and you get a lot of one on one. However from personal experience the internship is not really set up for you to learn pharmacy knowledge, you'll get that in school. The point is to get a feel for what it's like being the manager rx, speaking toward your metrics, and engaging with the rest of the store and customers. Good Luck!

Had the interview today, and felt failed.

I had a phone interview last week and was annoyed with all the HR behavioral questions: Explain one time you worked in a team. What is your greatest weakness? Describe one time you worked in a group.

I felt I answered all of the questions fairly well, but I didn't get the internship. They were hiring 2 people in our metro area and I have no idea how many people applied.

Yesterday they interviewed 16 students for intership and pharmacist job. I don't know how many interns they are looking for. Anyhow, hard questions. I prepared some senarios, but still didn't do well. The interviewers are all pharmacists, but still they asked the questions from their questionair.

Hey guys, I had my phone interview last week and overall think it well. Now I have an in person interview with a DM. Is the interview the same format- general questions followed by those behavioral questions where you have to bring up past examples..?

it's just answer yes or no, like if you are legal to work in the U.S., then come with behavioral questions.

Does the internship renew the next year or is it just for that one summer??

This reply might come a little late, but here are helpful hints that will be of use for future searchers.
I had 2 interviews, one on-site interview with a recruiter (mostly behavioral-typed questions). I then had a phone interview with the district manager (again, mostly behavioral-typed questions). I didn't think either of my interviews were stellar to be honest, but I was offered an internship. However, the store is about 7 hours away from where I live. If you live in a very competitive area, you'll need to be flexible. If you can, pick cities with major universities so finding housing will be somewhat easier.

I would advise you to be perky, be prepared for the behavioral typed questions, and be prepared to tell them you're leadership material. Also, try to ask questions at the end to show that you are genuinely interested in the company and have done some homework.

Someone mentioned Target paying less than other chain stores previously, I think this depends on where you live. I'm getting paid (as a P2) more than the CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart interns in the area (TX).
