Huntington's chorea (HC) is a fatal, degenerative brain disease that is transmitted in an autosomal dominant fashion. In the results shown below for a gel electrophoresis done to test for a DNA fragment containing a region common to people who have HC, assume that A D and B are the parent, and C and are the offspring? Which of following statements is TRUE?

although the answer is really easy. the answer key says neither parent carries fragment 5 when one parent does, it also says neighter offspring carries fragment 3 when offspring 3 does. Am I missing something?

Thank you

It looks to be a simple mistake in word choice that got overlooked. The answer should have said, "one parent doesn't have fragment V, and one child doesn't have fragment III"

I don't believe you missed anything.
