Hello,

I got this question right because of common knowledge and what I know about the lipid bilayer and molecules traveling through it, but I just need some clarification in regards to acids and their pka and phs especially using the Henderson-Hasselbac.

All you really need to know:

If pH < pKa, protonated
If pH > pKa, deprotonated

As for the Henderson-Hasselbach equation (which only applies to weak acids):

if [A-] = [HA], then pH = pKa (since the log of 1 is zero).
- this indicates the half-equivalence point on a titration curve
