Hey guys,

I'm taking the TBR class course and working my way thru their books and FL's. I keep hearing TBR is harder than the actual MCAT (which is why I'm with them!) but for anyone who took TBR FL's, how did your scores on these compare to the real thing and how was the similarity? Were they harder, pretty similar, or (god forbid) easier?

I'm starting AAMC's this week too, and with 5 weeks to go before my test date, which ones should I absolutely take, since idk if I can take them all before 9/8. I've heard 10 and 11 are must-takes, but which other ones? And how many should I be able to get through, realistically? Did you guys spread them out when you took them, a FL every 2-3 days or so?

Getting a bit jittery as the big day approaches...

Do a search. It has been discussed ad nauseum. But yes, they are typically considered harder for PS, similar-ish/harder for BS, and easier for VR.

IMO, you can take them all between now and then. I'm taking mine August 19th and I started doing an FL a day last week; I intend to take all the FL tests of TBR (1-7), Kap (1-5), and AAMCs (4-11). Make a calendar and plan it out.

Best of luck to you, m'dear.

real mcat can be just as hard as TBR exams (minus verbal)

real mcat is soooo random in difficulty that it's good to keep doing hard FLs

TBR is very a good source for practice. I feel that many of their passages are similar in mindset to the actual mcat as they test concepts over just remote memorization. I just took the mcat this past thurs and i have to say that it was tougher than the tbr passages and full lengths (i took all 7 cbts and did majority of passages from their workbooks). However, I felt prepared to tackle the real thing. Only time will show how effective my prep was.

Just a note, take your tbr scores with a grain of salt and use them to further learn the material. I would take all of the tbr tests first and then take the aamc's. By doing so, your aamc scores should be higher than your tbr scores. good luck!

TBR was good. I took the test yesterday for the second time. I was averaging around 11-12 on Bio TBR. i don't even think i got a 10 on the real thing yesterday. May be for me i got so used to the tbr bio format that i kind of got lost on the real deal. I pretty much followed sn2ed so i did all the bio passages. i missed some easy questions like the thyroid and thymus being the same yesterday. my silly mistakes. since it was my second time, i didn't take the aamcs again. i just did tbr cbts. Just make sure to do both if you have the time.

But yea 7/29ers are saying bio wasn't bad. i thought bio was hard. i had to guess on like 13 questions with 7 mins left. i got 10 the last time, i would be lucky to get a 10 this time around.
