I don't understand the question or the explanation. Basically none of it makes sense to me, how a different liquid could help identify the unknown? Thank you.
Accuracy is highest when measuring a large value. That is what they keep saying in lab class at least. An error of a given magnitude is less significant when applied to a bigger number than when applied to a smaller number. So the most accurate measurement should be the highest combination of numbers, which looks like 113.5 and 172 for question 8.
