Should TBR passages be strictly timed after reading the chapters? Or just do them at a comfortable pace and read the explanations to learn the material? Right now, I am relearning the material, so it seems useless to time the passages. However, I intend to start on AAMC tests right after content review, so its important to time the passages to get a feel for the test i guess.

Kinda lost on which approach is better for doing well on AAMC tests.

I would time the passages regardless. You can always come back to it afterwards and review it, but it's better if you're under the pressure as if you were taking the AAMC since you'll probably be doing them soon. Better to make mistakes now and learn then to mess up later.

Are you doing all 10 passages in one sitting? Or just a few? I think if you are following the SN2ed approach, the first 1/3 doesn't need to be timed, but the 2/3 and the 3/3 definitely should be.

Hope that helps!

I am generally following SN2ed method, but I am finding that I don't feel confident in my knowledge after the first 1/3 untimed. Also, If I were to time the passages, I feel that I would miss out on going through the analysis required to learn to answer passage based questions. 7 or 8 mins just isn't enough for me to get a grasp of the passage and answer the questions. I guess I could time and then review the answers I got wrong. But that initial analysis of passage skill would be missing with less time.

From my schedule:

Timing:

- ALWAYS complete your practice problems under TIMED conditions
- For BR passages: 6-7 minutes per passage, work towards 6 minutes
- For the EK 30-minute exams….well 30 minutes
- EK 1001, except Bio series: 30 seconds to 1 minute per question
- EK Verbal 101/TPR Verbal: 6-7 minutes per passage, work towards 6 minutes
- AAMC FLs: Use their timing
