Hey all,
I'd like some input on a situation I'm facing for admissions in 2005. I would sincerely like to attend TCOM, meaning it being my first choice. I don't want to even consider an allopathic career...BUT....Since there is only one osteopathic school in Texas and many allopathic...would sending my TMDSAS to the rest of the schools make me look "bad"?

Thanks,
Captain Monkey

real simple answer... nope. 😎

negative, explore your options.

Don't reject yourself by not applying to all these schools. There are some great schools in TEXAS and the cheapest in the country. Don't be afraid to see whats out there. It hardly cost anything to apply to all of the schools in TX. And remember that your goal is to be a DOCTOR!!! DO or otherwise!

The above posts are accurate. It will hurt you absolutely positively ZILCHO by applying to the rest.

HOWEVER:

Whatever you do, if asked in your DO interview which you prefer, SAY DO!

I don't care what anybody else says, I firmly believe that this will have an impact on your admissions.

CaptainMonkey, if you get in at TCOM consider yourself very lucky. Not only is it an excellent medical school, but it's probably the most affordable DO school in the country for in-state students.

Thanks guys, that really helps. Best of luck to you all.
