Current students or other well-informed applicants: How solid are clinicals here? I've heard Methodist is top notch, but I know they're tied to somewhere in corpus christi and some other far-away spots. What percentage of students aren't able to stay in FW for 3rd and 4th year?
Current student - I'd guess about 10% were sent to our remote sites in Corpus, Texoma, Midland, and Longview (members of ROME are sent to remote sites, but if there are unfilled spots, others will be sent there not by choice). In DFW, our rotation sites could be JPS, Medical City, Texas Health, Methodist Dallas, Health Pavilion (on campus) and some other private clinics. I feel like our relationship with JPS used to be solid and they were seen as our "home program" essentially. Maybe or maybe not coincidentally due to TCU's arrival, I feel like our relationship is not as strong. I am unsure if we will be able to compete with TCU in the future. We have flexibility for 4th year and can do our rotations from anywhere - you just have to set up your rotations yourself. TCOM reserves some spots at the local hospitals for electives, but it's not nearly enough for the whole class.

I interviewed 10/11 as an OOS and still haven't heard back after sending an update letter in January. Do OOS applicants hear back on match day?

I had a couple texas schools send emails after match day as an OOS. It can happen!

For the people who have prematched, do you still see the requirement to send transcripts? mine are completely gone from the platform.

I do not see this either but I honestly never checked since I only sent my transcripts to TMDSAS. Can't read into it much.

Mine were still there after submitting my transcripts to tmdsas (checked last week). There’s also people getting surveys from tcom asking them why they withdrew their app. Idk what to think lol.

Does TCOM ever send rejections, or are all interviewed folks waitlisted?

Do we need to reply to the email or anything to accept a spot on the waitlist? The email wasn’t very informative.

+1 Matched, IS A! I accepted earlier today, but is anyone else having trouble accessing the portal? I used the same link (https://my.hsc.unt.edu/psp/ps/?cmd=login) but can't load the website. I'm trying to be sure my acceptance is confirmed before I send out any withdrawal emails.

Thank you! Like around 7 pm-ish to when I made the forum post... It says website is unable to load and it physically just doesn't. Had 2 other people do it too to check if it was just my network or computer. Loading the page and logging in to the portal was fine for me after coming home from work around 1 pm today, so thankfully I've accepted my spot.

The UNT system has been doing a data center move/merge and it has knocked some stuff offline. Current timeline for it all to return to normal is 4 PM. (I’m staff so I got an email update on this today.)

I just want to make sure I'm understanding everything correctly so I don't screw this up for myself:
We're given 2 weeks to confirm our acceptance at TCOM....after that is it still possible to hold another offer of acceptance (non-TMDSAS school) without violating any rule? And we have until April 30th to withdraw from all but one? I am still waiting on the answer from 2 other AAMC schools but I'm not sure if that will come by Feb 28th

Yes you can wait to hear from pending action at other schools and make your decisions as needed

Hey guys! I have some questions regarding the masters of med sci program at unt. If someone knows about it or has been in it please let me know so I can PM.

If we have a TMDSAS acceptance and AACOMAS acceptance, how long do we have to withdraw from one and finalize the other?
The AACOMAS school will usually have a deadline by which you must pay a deposit or lose the seat.
At this moment the TMDSAS place is in your hands.
By the time of the AACOMAS school’s deposit deadline you must decide about the DO school.

If I get matched to TCOM, is there a place to pay a fee to secure my seat?
looking at several posts above, it looks like the portal isn't working just yet -
If you got the Match message on Feb 14 I guess you will just wait for further instructions from TCOM

I didn't have to pay any fee to accept my offer. It was a prematch offer so may be a bit different, but I haven't heard anything about TCOM charging fee to hold your spot unlike some other DO schools. This may of course change after 4/30 which is the deadline to only hold one TMDSAS offer.

No fees at TCOM for seat reservation
