@@~*~!~* Temple Class of 2011 *~!~*~@@

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
i believe if you have residence there for a year you are eligible for in state... aka your second year you'll be able to get it

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone received any financial aid packages from temple yet?
i haven't, but I remember them telling us we'd get them in early april.

Hey everyone, I'm a first year med student at Temple, and I need a new roomate (M/F) b/c my current roomate just matched @ UNC. Originally I'm from New Orleans, and I transplanted to philly for school. The apt is available as early as June 1st. I've been here for a year already and I love the place. Its a 2 bedroom 1 bath, and it has a parking spot off the street and plenty of free street parking. The rent is $450 includes heat and water, and our monthly bills have also been really cheap. This place is ideal for anyone who wants to be 10-15 minutes from the city or 5-10 minutes from manayunk. Also, its really close to Drexel Med (walking distance), Temple Med, and Temple Dental. Any questions please email me @ [email protected] or send me a message. Congrats on getting in and welcome to philly.

hey everyone! i got into temple yesterday about a month after my interview. still waiting on a few other decisions, but leaning toward attending. 🙂

yey, temple!! 😎 I'll see you guys there.

So, where's everyone living?

Dunno where i'm living yet. I checked out a few places online.... but i have no idea. probably east falls/ manayuk/roxborough area for me. somewhere where i can bring/park my car.

any cali folks? older students? non-trads? current temple meds...whats up with the soccer team?

re housing: anyone know anything about empirian towers?

Hey guys any other people from Texas going to Temple??? Anyways got my financial aid package on monday and was pretty disappointed....41000 in loans to pay for 47000 in tuition and fees...

Yeah I'm interested in the soccer team as well (if one exists). I'm from the Boston area and am getting stoked for the fall. Currently looking into housing options in the downtown area as well and will post if I find anything good

Hey guys I just got in off the waitlist!!! I'm almost 100% sure I'm going. I've been waiting on temple all Spring. I really liked philly and the urban medicine opportunites the school provides.

Does anyone know where it would be a good suburb to live near Temple? I'm willing to even drive 45 min away. I'm looking to rent a townhouse or something like that since I'll be bringing my 2 dogs with me. I have looked into Far Northeast but the area didn't seem that great. Anyone from Philly has any suggestions on where I should look for such a place?

roxborough/east falls/manayunk would be a great place to live, and its definitely less than 45 minutes commute to temple from there. there are really cheap places on craigslist, or if you have the time to walk around the area, you can probably find a really nice place for a reasonable amount.

Whats up class of 2011, see you guys in the fall!!

ya, I'm thinking about these areas too because I have two cats coming with me. I've looked into these areas quite a bit and they seem like fun areas...especially manayunk. I'm from Colorado so its going to be a big change for me, but I think it will be a good experience to live on the east coast.

Whatsup everyone. My first post on this thread but I've been keeping up 🙂 I was accepted way back in December and I'm pretty sure I'm heading back east around mid-July. I was planning on driving a U-Haul out to Philly with all my stuff all the way from Oregon... Talk about a coast to coast drive haha. Anyone have any better ideas on how to get my stuff out there? I have a car too so I am worried about paying for parking and things... Are there any parts of town best to live in for parking issues? Also, do apartment complexes downtown have parking garages? I'm pretty outgoing so I don't want to live out in the suburbs... what are the pass prices like over there? I mean, back here I bought a pass for $45 for the whole year. Things are a little different I am sure

Have you considered a furnished apartment? I have come across quite a few while looking for places myself. That way you would only have to bring things like your computer and clothes which could easily fit in your car and you could nix the uhaul altogether. Just a thought. From what i understand, a lot of downtown apartments do have parking available but it is really expensive. However, most people say that if you live in the city you can get by just fine without a car.

anyone in here get in off of the waitlist????

I got off the waitlist on May 14th. I'm out of state and i interviewed Jan 30th. There's a thread about this (search Temple CCL? or look under my user name for threads I started) that I started awhile ago. If you want to go to Temple I suggest sending a LOI. I did and i think that some other kid (you can find more info on the thread) said that when he called they told him that he should send a letter saying he was still interested. Hope this helps. 🙂

hi i just got in off the waitlist today and i'm pretty sure i'll be attending. :hardy: i was wondering when would be a good time to start looking for a place to live...

looking forward to seeing everyone in a few months!

congrats! Well you can post on the blog and introduce yourself in hopes to find someone with similar interest and whatever. Everyone seems to be doing this so login and check it out when it becomes available. I would e-mail Maria Demmler if you want to get on there asap and not wait to get all the paperwork done.

Anybody know where the info for that party on August 1st went...I can't find it on the temple blog and I was thinking about going?

Woo Temple! Class of 2008 rules. (2011's not too bad either)
