For those of you who are curious, the May 4th interview was pretty chill with a total of 15 great people. The interviews consisted of 1 student and 1 faculty. The student one is a blind interview while the faculty one is open. It pretty much reminded me of a medical school interview. A lot of the basic questions were asked: why medicine, tell me about yourself, what do you do for fun, where do you see yourself in 10 years, etc...
During the student interview, we talked about medicine/Philly/Temple. Just your normal conversation. The faculty interview I had was with the former Dean of Medicine. He first asked about my background (family, school, research, volunteering) and, from there, we talked about a lot of different topics. If anybody has Dr. Malmut as an interviewer, I highly recommend listening to his advice on medicine and life. He gave me a lot to think about and challenged a few of my ideas on... pretty much everything.
If you want to prepare for the June interview, which Grace said would be in the middle of June, then look at Temple's med school interview feedback on Student Doc.
The current ACMS students pretty much said that if you get into the program, then the faculty will guide you to get a 3.5. Meaning, if you put in the hard work, then the 3.5 is absolutely possible. From what the current students said, it seems that everybody obtained the 3.5. Most of them were studying hard to get that 30 on the MCATs.
As reference, I turned in my application in the middle of January and received an invite in early-April. My stats are 3.37 science, 3.54 overall, 33S MCAT (13 P, 11 B, 9 V), 1380 SAT (680 vebal, 700 math).
I probably could go on and on but, if anybody has any questions, I'll be more than happy to talk about the experience!
Good luck! 👍
