Temple Question --> What Books

I'm curious to know this as well.. do you think if we call the admissions office, they would give out the list?

yeah im sure they should be able to help. Or i guess i could email some of those kids (the email list i got after my first deposit) and ask. If you find out let me know.

I assume your headed to temple this august right?

Why does it matter? There's no point in reading ahead since you have no idea what sections are covered in the class anyways. Just curious.

yeah im definitely dont want to start reading, but just curious. Do we even have to buy books when were at school. In undergrad i NEVER bought books, it was such a waste. I assume dental school may be much different though.

Although i do feel like i should refresh some information ie anatomy/biochem. I have been a complete bum for the last year. Doing mindless jobs and really not doing anything but skiing (water and snow)

Your question should be "what books do i need?" Not "what books do we USE?" Wait until you start school and they give you a list of the required books. You can ask upperclassmen which of the books will actually be beneficial to you.

Don't buy any books. Especially your first year. The only class that I have actually looked in a book so far in my two years here at Temple was the classes taught by the OS doctors (OS I and the Anesthesia class). Save your money.

Biochem is strictly handouts that have all relavent info, you can buy an additional book if you want to improve your understanding, but all the test questions comes from the handouts. For histo it was all powerpoints, I didn't buy anything for this class either.

Don't buy any for biochem or histo. I bought both but never cracked either one. I still have histo for sale by the way.

I would buy Woelfels for restorative. that book gets polished off within a month (fun fun), I bought Ten Cates oral Histology (not the main text book though), I bought the book for preventive dentistry (nned it in public health too). For those of you gunning and want to buy every book, don't. I too am going for the grade and didn't need all of them for good scores. Just relax.😀

And did you guys know I am updating my website?

Great im glad i wont be spending much money on books. yeah i check your site dmdstudent often. great site.

Also for you temple students, toofshucker and 1992Corolla: do you all know anything about DMD/MBA or know students in it. Whats your thoughts on this if you have any, Im thinking about it. Also, not sure if i would like to specialize, but if so would this MBA at all help me chances or just hurt it w/ the extra work?
