I was wondering if anyone knew what would be a good way to be able to shadow a podiatrist at TUSPM. I did a google search to see if I could maybe get a list of podiatrists with a contact number/email that I could use to contact them but no luck there. I'm in Temple undergrad and so I'm trying to find someone in the city to follow.

Call the admissions office and ask to speak with Katerra Snead. She is very nice and will set you up with shadowing at the TUSPM clinic. This will also allow you the opportunity to follow a 3rd/4th year student which is a fantastic learning experience. 👍

Thanks a lot Ferocity, appreciate it man! 😀

I'm just going to throw this out there. Philly is chock FULL of Podiatrist that are crazy busy and may give you a better idea of what the profession is like outside of the bubble that is TUSPM.

Following a 4th year student around may be an interesting study in what it's like to be a student, which is very valuable, but they won't be able to write you LoRs.

Just saying...

I did try and find places close to where I am because getting there is a huge problem since I don't have a car. Didn't have much luck there, that's why I'm trying at TUSPM.

There are dozens of offices that are close to public transportation, I'm sure.

The admissions office can help you. Some schools actually have a directory of their alumni with telephone and email addresses that they are more then happy to share. I was able to contact two schools and recieved a list from both via email with the contact information of their respective alumni in my practicing area.

if i remember right, there was a podiatrist's office on broad, just south of vine. eitherway, it was right by Hahnemann hospital. i dont know who the pod is, i just remember walking by there and thinking "hmmm, good spot for a practice, and theres pizza right there too".

yeah, about the pizza place, the buffalo chicken pizza was not worth the money. but they make a goo cheese pizza.

LOL.

I think that's Steve Boc's practice. He is involved in the school, or was at one time.

Yes, Steve's office is literally across the street from Hahnemann. At one time Steve was the chairman of the dept of surgery at TUSPM. Now he is the residency director at Hahnemann.
